Xbox workshop as a pilot project: In Berlin, a workshop has now been held that brought both the nurses and residents closer to the world of video games. Initially, in a theoretical part by the rehabilitation scientist Katrin Schäfer, it was reported how exactly gaming can help especially older people. Afterwards, the supervisors and then the residents were allowed to try out how the whole thing works to get a feeling for the possibilities at all.
Not only the Xbox Series S and a normal controller were used, but also a steering wheel, for example. But in particular the Xbox adaptive controller was also presented because it naturally works significantly barrier -constricts and can reduce further hurdles. Forza Horizon 5, Super Lucky's Tale, Old Man's Journey and the Microsoft Flight Simulator were then played. In this video you can watch how fun and cool that was apparently:

This is how it went: The results were probably quite positive: the video games not only stimulated all kinds of brain areas, but also triggered very simple memories. The flight simulator makes vacation locations tangible again and in Forza Horizon 5 the feeling of driving could be brought back.
But not only the senior citizens, but also the nurses were probably very impressed by the hands on session. In which the first step is, of course, to make the use of video games in senior homes across the board. After all, the employees should play together with the residents and ultimately bring them closer to the medium. Similar to these two older people who have hired a teacher for The Last of Us 2.
